1960 Lotus Elite S2 #1449
Asking $125,000
Originally chassis no 1082 invoiced 21 Oct 1959 (UK registration 713 HJH) and used as a publicity car by Lotus. It was written off in early 1960. Re-bodied as a S2 Bristol body chassis no 1449 and invoiced 6 Oct 1960. The original British green book is included and has Fred Bushell’s signature.
The Elite is in superb condition inside and out. Mechanically restored with double SU and close ratio MG gearbox. Full restoration completed 2010 with limited mileage since. Currently owned by Wybe Geertsma, with all owners known since new. Extensive correspondence with the late Robin Read around its early history (see page 61 of Robin’s book).

LOTUS ELAN S4

This great Elan was totally restored over many years, including removing all paint to check condition of body, then professional paint job in 2 pak lotus yellow. During restoration the Stromberg head and carbies were replaced by a sprint spec Weber head. Standard touring gearbox mated to 3.55 diff for relaxed touring. Mazda electric headlight lifters fitted ( original stuff supplied). New Accuspark dissy ( original Lucas supplied). New Lucas alternator fitted ( generator supplied). Aluminium fuel tank with Weber electric fuel pump and filter. More information and full list of extras can be provided to serious buyers. Car has done about 20,000miles since full rebuild and is in Warragul area Vic.
